That no matter how hard you try, nobody likes you and it’s your fault?

Then my comic is for you.

AI Boyfriend is my first attempt at a professional graphic novel, which I have written and illustrated myself.

It follows the story of Harry trying to build a robot to practice talking to his crush in class.

My end goal is to find representation with an agent, and work with a publisher to put my work into the hands of as many people as possible.

pitch

Harry is your typical teenage trans guy; a straight-A student, and a nerd at heart who's desperate to survive being queer in high school.

But when he gets paired with his crush Tom in English class, Harry sees an opportunity to sweep him off his feet with his final computer science project.

As an autistic person, it’s not as straightforward as it seems to talk to someone you don’t know, especially if you don't even know what team they play for.

And they don’t know your name.

Or.. that.. you exist.

Harry's plan?

Make an AI Boyfriend based on Tom, to practice his moves on.

Then when the project is due, he can surprise him with an elaborate date proposal.

But it turns out making a person is more complicated than it seems... and Harry learns that sometimes the best thing you can do is be yourself.
